Inspire and Promote Peace! New Mini flags in English: a thoughtful, unique gift. This small size is perfect for so many places. Five flags, 6" x 8" each, 100% cotton, hemmed and on a cord. Handmade in Kathmandu, Nepal. Includes a card with prayer flag traditions. West Wind Flags are created in the spirit of the ancient Tibetan Buddhist Prayer Flags that are hung in the mountains of Tibet and throughout Nepal. Flying on rooftops of homes and monasteries, from bridges and trees in the countryside, they offer blessings on the wind. This beautiful tradition dates back to the 10th century.
As the flags wave in the wind, the colors fade, and so the prayers are lifted and carried around the world. Prayer flags are hung with respect and intention to celebrate new beginnings: a new relationship, a new home, a birth, a new journey and always the New Year! They help insure luck and success for new ventures. When they are tattered and worn out, it is customary to burn them. May they benefit all beings.
Our flags are respectfully made in Kathmandu, Nepal by Buddhist printmakers. The flags are made of 100% cotton. We have developed an excellent relationship with our printers and all of the West Wind Flags are fair trade products.
